The aim of this project is to improve the care of people with leg amputations in Tunisia and to increase the penetration of simple leg prostheses.<\/p>\n\n<p>Here are some important aspects of the project:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pop-up workshops:<\/strong><br\/><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">As part of the project, temporary <\/span><strong style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">pop-up workshops<\/strong><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\"> will be set up in various regions of Tunisia.<\/span><br\/>These workshops offer the possibility of making and fitting simple leg prostheses directly on site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accessibility and supply:<\/strong><br\/><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">Currently only about <\/span><strong style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">10%<\/strong><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\"> of people with leg amputations have access to prostheses.<\/span><br\/>The &#8220;Second Leg Tunisia&#8221; project aims to reach more people in order to improve their mobility and quality of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cooperation with Papillon International:<\/strong><br\/><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">Papillon International is a non-profit organization that works to improve the living conditions of people with physical disabilities.<\/span><br\/>The collaboration with Papillon provides access to expertise, resources and a broad network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holistic approach:<\/strong><br\/><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">The project takes into account not only the technical provision of prosthetic legs, but also the psychosocial support of those affected.<\/span><br\/>Training, advice and support are an integral part of the project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>The partnership between Saphenus and Papillon International shows how technology, sustainability and social commitment can go hand in hand to improve people&#8217;s lives.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In collaboration with Papillon International, Saphenus Medical Technology has launched the &#8220;Second Leg Tunisia&#8221; project.
