Second Leg Tunisia” development project: In collaboration with Papillon International, Saphenus Medical Technology has launched the “Second Leg Tunisia” project. The aim of this project is to improve the care of people with leg amputations in Tunisia and to increase the penetration of simple leg prostheses.
Here are some important aspects of the project:
- Pop-up workshops:
As part of the project, temporary pop-up workshops will be set up in various regions of Tunisia.
These workshops offer the possibility of making and fitting simple leg prostheses directly on site. - Accessibility and supply:
Currently only about 10% of people with leg amputations have access to prostheses.
The “Second Leg Tunisia” project aims to reach more people in order to improve their mobility and quality of life. - Cooperation with Papillon International:
Papillon International is a non-profit organization that works to improve the living conditions of people with physical disabilities.
The collaboration with Papillon provides access to expertise, resources and a broad network. - Holistic approach:
The project takes into account not only the technical provision of prosthetic legs, but also the psychosocial support of those affected.
Training, advice and support are an integral part of the project.
The partnership between Saphenus and Papillon International shows how technology, sustainability and social commitment can go hand in hand to improve people’s lives.
