We offer holistic solutions to problems. We are not concerned with a “fancy” new technology that is easy to sell. We want to use strongly interdisciplinary approaches to find the roots of problems and thus develop new, groundbreaking solutions. That’s why we work with outstanding scientists, designers and physicians who share the same pioneering spirit: to develop new medical product solutions and therapies for the benefit of people.

Milestones in the history of development

Saphenus Medical Technology was founded in Austria in 2016 and has spent years researching and developing the world’s first sentient prosthesis with leading scientists. This revolutionary medical device has won numerous grants and awards, including the good design award from the Chicago Athenaeum, and was the first Austrian company ever to receive funding from the European Commission’s EIC Accelerator. The medical device was presented at EXPO 2020 in Dubai as part of a large Austrian business delegation.

In 2021, the first user was equipped with the feeling prosthesis. Saphenus Medical Technology cooperates with leading institutions in Austria and Germany and makes a significant contribution to making basic knowledge rapidly available to patients. We are a high social impact company committed to meeting many of the goals of the United Nations SDGs. Saphenus Medical Technology has been cooperating with the Papillon International association for several years to ensure affordable prostheses for people with limb loss through the “second leg” project.
